Bodies, becoming light.
ParticleMotion
ParticleMotion is an interactive art installation that transforms full-body human movement into living digital art. Real-time computer vision tracks 33 skeletal landmarks — no wearables required — and drives a GPU particle engine rendering over 200,000 simultaneous elements. The result: every visitor becomes the artist.
Bodies move. Most rooms forget.
Interactive art must be simultaneously expressive for curators and immediately intuitive for gallery visitors. The system had to track motion with zero calibration, handle different body sizes and lighting conditions, and run reliably across long gallery hours without a technician present.
A room that watches, and a canvas that listens.
We built a calibration-free MediaPipe tracking pipeline that streams skeletal data directly into a custom WebGL particle engine. A dynamic adaptation layer normalises different body proportions in real time. The system ships as a plug-and-play unit — one cable, one screen, zero technical setup required.
Built to ship, not to demo.
Full-Body Tracking
Real-time tracking of 33 body landmarks at 30fps — no wearables, no calibration step.
200K Particles
Over 200,000 GPU-simulated particles respond in real time to motion velocity, direction, and rhythm.
Gallery-Ready Setup
Plug-and-play unit. One cable, one screen. Calibrates automatically to any space or lighting condition.
Snapshot Export
Visitors can freeze and download their unique artwork as a high-resolution print-quality image.
Multi-Person Mode
Supports up to 3 simultaneous performers for collaborative and duo artworks.
Theme Engine
Operators switch between colour palettes and particle behaviours via a web control panel, no restart needed.
